Bio

Vic Nogay (she/her) is a proud Ohioan with a BA in English/Creative Writing from Denison University. She writes poetry, flash/micro fiction/cnf, and is working on her first novel. She is an Associate Poetry Editor at Identity Theory and a Poetry Reader at Okay Donkey.

Vic’s micro poetry chapbook, under fire under water, was published in September 2022 by tiny wren publishing. Her work appears in Fractured Lit, Lost Balloon, Barren Magazine, Reservoir Road, Capsule Stories, Little Engines, Emerge Literary Journal, Ellipsis Zine, and others.

In 2023, she received her first Pushcart Prize nomination for her poem “christmas after solstice,” included in her microchapbook from tiny wren. Her piece, “First Communion,” was nominated for Best Microfiction 2023 by CLOVES Literary. Her poem “i dream of the deer / in marriage counseling” was chosen as the runner-up in Gordon Square Review‘s Spring 2022 Ohio Writers Poetry Contest. Her piece “the revivals we cleave, we endure,” published by Lost Balloon, was nominated for Best Microfiction 2022. Her piece “strict rules and loose guidelines for concertgoing post-pandemic,” published by Reservoir Road Literary Review, was also nominated for Best Microfiction 2022.

Vic is the Editor of Twilight: The Zine (2023) from The Daily Drunk. She has served as Guest Poetry Editor for issue two of Casino Literary Magazine, and has worked on the editorial teams for Bandit Fiction and Little Engines.

In addition to her personal creative writing, she provides editing services for high school students writing college admissions essays. She is a mother of two daughters and has a passion for animal welfare and rescue.
